How AAEHM Works

AAEHM is a certification program for measuring, managing, improving and verifying Indoor Environmental Health in animal-care facilities.

For decades, animal care facilities have invested heavily in veterinary medicine, nutrition, cleaning, disinfection, facility design, and staff training. Yet one important aspect of facility performance has often remained unmeasured and, therefore, largely unmanaged: Indoor Environmental Health. AAEHM certification was developed to help close that gap, providing a structured framework for recognition, accountability, verification, and continuous improvement. Certification represents a demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship through the objective measurement, management, improvement, and verification of Indoor Environmental Health.

The comprehensive AAEHM management program combines equipment to continually monitor and treat the air quality, to ensure the air pets and people breathe is delivered in a managed and verified process.

AAEHM Program

1 ASSESS

An AAEHM assessment considers facility size, animal population, occupancy patterns, current systems and operation to determine facility needs.

Historically, environmental programs have often been designed around the size of a facility. Square footage remains an important consideration, but it provides only part of the picture.

2 MONITOR

AAEHM receives data 24/7 from your facility, assesses the information, and alerts you when action is recommended.

The goal is to understand what the measurements mean and respond appropriately to improve your facility's environment.

3 IMPROVE

The AAEHM program includes CASPR equipment that applies appropriate air treatment and environmental interventions.

Your environment changes throughout the day. AAEHM recognizes meaningful changes from your facilities established patterns and helps guide an appropriate response.

Continuous air monitoring verifies results by tracking data and trends to confirm improvement in air quality.

CERTIFICATION

Certification recognizes facilities meeting defined ongoing monitoring, environmental management, verification, and program requirements.

Certified facilities will be listed on the AAEHM directory so customers have piece of mind that you take air management seriously.
